Change or cancel an order
Need to change or cancel an order? Contact us before your order enters production. Changes and cancellations are only possible until then, and we will do everything we can to help. Once production has started, the order is locked in and cannot be changed or canceled.
Storm window installation help
Every window type has its own installation guide with steps, tools and final checks. Whichever one you use, the same habits keep the job straightforward, and the guide for your exact model always comes first.
Dry-fit before you fasten
Place the unit at its mounting position with support and check level, square and clearance before any permanent attachment. Do not force an oversized frame into the opening.
Keep the frame square
Use the attachment points and hardware in your product instructions, recheck alignment as you tighten, and avoid bowing the frame or drilling near the glass.
Check the finished fit
Confirm retainers are secure, test panels and latches without forcing them, and check weatherseal contact. Never caulk the bottom drainage gap or weep holes.
How to measure storm windows
Measure the opening where the storm window frame will sit, and enter your sizes unchanged. When you are unsure about a mounting surface, stop before ordering and send us photos.
Pick the mounting position first
Interior and exterior frames sit in different places, so decide which you are ordering before you pick up the tape measure.
Take several readings
For vertical, horizontal and picture windows, measure width at the top, middle and bottom and height at the left, center and right. The smallest of each is your size.
Send photos when unsure
Photos of the full opening and close-ups of the top, sides and sill let us check a measurement before anything is made. Arches and specialty shapes always need a review first.
Fit, drafts and drainage troubleshooting
Most fit problems come down to alignment or the mounting surface, and most moisture questions come down to drainage. Here is where to start.
The panel needs force to fit
Remove the supported unit and resolve the mismatch before drilling. Do not force an oversized frame into the opening.
A panel binds or does not latch
Stop and check alignment and the product instructions before using it. Keep tracks clear of debris so sashes slide freely.
Moisture between the windows
Moisture can relate to air leakage, indoor humidity or blocked drainage. Check that every weep hole is open and your original window is sealed on the inside.
Not sure what you are seeing
A mark that does not clear with gentle wiping, a bent frame or a cloudy area in sealed glass should be looked at, not scrubbed harder. Contact us with photos and your order details.
Cleaning storm windows and seasonal care
Clean in spring and fall, and again after heavy pollen, storms or construction nearby. Start with a dry pass to lift loose dust, wash gently, then dry with a clean cloth to avoid streaks.
Glass and acrylic
Glass tolerates most mild glass cleaners. Acrylic needs a cleaner made for plastic glazing and a soft, non-abrasive cloth, so avoid abrasive pads and harsh chemicals.
Screens and tracks
Brush screens with a soft brush, or wash them gently in mild soapy water and dry fully. Clear tracks with a soft brush or vacuum attachment, then wipe with a damp cloth.
Weep holes
Exterior storm windows drain through small openings at the bottom of the frame. Check them each time you clean, clear them with a soft tool and never caulk over them.

Exterior windows
Covered for as long as you, the original purchaser, own and live in the home. If you sell, the new homeowner is covered for ten years from the original purchase date.
Low-E and interior
Low-E aluminum windows carry a 20-year limited warranty and vinyl interior windows a 5-year limited warranty. Aluminum storm doors are confirmed with your quote.
What to send
Your name, address and phone number, proof of purchase showing the date, the product involved and a description of the problem with photos.
Storm window shipping, delivery and damage
Everything is made to order. Eligible small standard exterior windows ship by Ground in protected cartons, and everything else travels on a protected pallet. Delivery is calculated at checkout, so you see the charge before you pay.
Pallet delivery
Pallet delivery is curbside with a liftgate and a delivery appointment. Please arrange help to move the shipment from the curb, since carry-in and installation are not included.
Lead time
Production is estimated at 5-7 weeks in high season and can change with order volume, materials, weather and shipping conditions. Manufacturing time is added to transit time.
If it arrives damaged
Note the damage on the delivery receipt, photograph the label, the packaging and every side of the window, and contact us promptly with your order number and photos.

Where should I measure a storm window?

Should I add or subtract a fitting allowance myself?
No. Enter your measured opening sizes unchanged. Any factory deduction or overlap must be confirmed for your selected frame and mounting method before manufacturing.
What if I am not sure about the mounting surface?
Stop before ordering and send photos of the full opening and close-ups of the top, sides, and sill.
What should I do if a storm window needs force to fit?

Does a storm door quote include installation?
Do not assume installation is included. The written quote should state the product, delivery, and any separately agreed installation scope.
What is the best cleaner for storm windows?
For glass, a mild glass cleaner or a little dish soap in water with a soft cloth works well. For acrylic, use a cleaner made for plastic glazing. Avoid abrasive pads and harsh chemicals.
What happens if I caulk over a weep hole?
Moisture can stay trapped between the storm window and your original window, which can cloud the glass and damage the original frame over time. Keep the weep holes open.

Will my order ship by Ground or on a pallet?
Eligible small standard exterior windows can ship by Ground in individually protected cartons. All vinyl interior and Low-E aluminum windows use protected pallet delivery, even small orders. Larger exterior windows, doors and bulk orders also use pallet delivery.
What should I do if something arrives damaged?
Inspect the packaging and products when the shipment arrives. Note visible damage on the delivery receipt, photograph the shipping label, the packaging and every side of the window (front, both sides, top and bottom), and contact us promptly with your order number and photos. We may ask for the damaged window to be returned or inspected by the carrier before a replacement ships.
